Between the Crazy and the Christmas!

My semester was bananas, and my final exams/papers were particularly brutal. BUT, it didn't stop Scarlet and I from having some giggles and adventures (be it in our apartment or out on the town).  Here's a few... (more to come!)

On the Saturday before Christmas, I took Scarlet to the mall with the intention of "seeing Santa Clause." However, when I got there, Santa was well concealed behind a five-foot cheap red velour wall, and they were charging $30+ to take a photo with him. This cheapscate mother quickly switched gears and we headed over to the (free) playland instead. Aika didn't seem to mind. :)

I'll have to ask you to forgive the glutton of similar pictures... but I'm just too enchanted by this girl and the building holiday magic, I couldn't choose!

Scarlet is instructing Simone to go back onto my bed they can return to their *mutual* game of plopping a baby doll on top of Simone's furry "bed."

"Hey Mommy, whatdya say you move this cat to the bed so I can continue torturing her?"

"Mommy... you... you, you wouldn't condone my torture, would you??"

Wild Morning Light on a Monday

When in [Wisconsin]!

I know! I know! I don't even recognize this multiple-times-a-week blogger either! I think it helps quite a bit that photography videos on YouTube have been my study break of choice this exam season, so when I have spare time and a subject (like, for instance, a daughter brimming with hilarious antics...) the camera comes out. :)

This weekend, Daddy is visiting, and he decided to fully embrace the Madison, WI spirit: he donned his best Bucky and led our troops to State Street for some ice cream. This was probably about the second or third time Scarlet has had ice cream, and she was, as you'd guess, completely in her element.  Unfortunately, I put the camera away during most of the actual eating process... it pretty necessary if I wanted to steal a bite because Scarlet was hell-bent on shoveling the entire dish we were splitting into her mouth as.fast.as.possible. Nonetheless, here's a few shots from our little outing on a misty purple Madison night...

Speaking of good subjects for a wannabe photographer... friendly biker dude in front of a Christmas tree with an ice cream cone?! Does it get better???
