These last few days, we've had the Chenhalls girls with us - so our world has been filled with cousin love, lots of giggles, (a few squabbles), Simone adoration, and imaginary eagles. Pretty rad. Then, yesterday, we had a "Christmas in June" Mleziva family reunion at
Bay Beach - which, let the record show, is practically the same but looks awfully different through 30-year-old eyes... though I can still remember fluffing up my hair to eek past the minimum height standard for the bumper cars or watching Joey Pozorski puke into a baseball hat on the Scat... But, I digress. The girls got Grandpa Bob on quite a few rides, and the Mleziva siblings all took on their new roller coaster! Plus, we played some
Schafkopf (sheephead), dodged a storm, and all-in-all, had a great (albeit un-photographed) day.
Then, today we had a birthday party for GiGi AND a trip out to a local farm that I found on my quest for real farm eggs. To call it a success barely covers it - we had an extremely gracious host, Christine, who showed us more friendly baby animals than we could ask for - Not to mention an aimless guinea hen and zombie chicken (that had "died" twice, then came back to life). Adventures and squeals abound!

Grandchildren & Bloody Mary's - a few of the birthday girl's favorite things (narrowly surpassing the gifts from G-Bob and myself, which seemed to fall ever so slightly flat, but amusing. Good thing she had the grandchildren here...) |
~ ~ ~ TO THE FARM! ~ ~ ~
That little brown & white kitty was just calling to be Simone's new sister... we shall see. |
See what I mean? |
Siirrrrriously. |
Baby ducks! |
And chickens! |
... even turkeys! Oh my! |
Just outside of this shot were two big cow skulls... which fortunately went unnoticed by the girls. Thanks, pigs. |
Oh yeah, we blend. |
I never could resist a goat... (even worth nearly impaling my forehead with what can only be called a rusty rod...) |
Could you? |
Happy girl after her first farm visit! :) |
Spoils of our adventure - the top left are duck eggs - which had GiGi & Grandpa Bob squirming and giggling on the way home. (But I just had one for lunch, and it was quite delish.) |
This is great! We'll have to remember this farm next year at the end of springtime! What a find! I love the shot of you being impaled by the rusty rod. Ha! (So what were your presents to mom that went flat?)
ReplyDeleteThese girls really could not be any more precious. They all are really beautiful...and looks like you guys are up to a lot of fun :)!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lauren! The pics of Skylar you've put on facebook are completely melt-worthy! I hope we have a chance to get these girls together someday soon! xx
DeleteSuch cute pics! And Mandy, I love your haircut!
ReplyDeleteThanks, hon! We still have to work out a visit... Any chance you're free August 9th or the weekend of the 16th - 17th?
