We've been lucky in SF to have visitors coming through - most recently we were honored to host the esteemed William C. White on none other than his 30th birthday. The clever boy hopped three timezones to put off the big leap from his youth (*wink*) as long as possible, but alas - time keeps on slippin' slippin' slippin' ♪♬ and on the big day we head up to wine country to celebrate properly.
The man himself:
Our fearless and awesomely informed/connected leader:
Lunch at O'Brien vineyard - a bit warm, but utterly heavenly!
And many thanks to Robyn - we even had cake and candles!
Teamwork!
"Sorry. Not beautiful enough." - Will C. White (via Instagram, one of several apps in which the man of the weekend inspired me to get moderately more involved)
We didn't do too many "touristy" things (other than, you know - wine country - with Will, but don't be alarmed, we did get a classic shot with the Golden Gate Bridge:
In the next few days, we kept ourselves adventurous (especially the boys - keep reading), and creatively kept the theme of wine rolling for our "hike" in Lands End.
Our special style:
And finally, the boys jumped at the opportunity to take a paddle board yoga class when Robyn told them about it - though they didn't initially realize they were signing up for a "performance" version for America's Cup (a "sailing regatta match" that excites San Franciscans to no end). Instead of the calm, glasslike bay at Sausalito, they were in the marina on the SF coast. But alas, they did great - both survived to tell the tale!
Doesn't he look natural?
Doesn't he look like he's having fun?
Utkatasana or praying for dear life, Kei?
"As far as I'm concerned, God made the ocean for BOATS. And he made boats for COCKTAILS." - Will C. White
Happy birthday, Will!
